| Using TM tools to translate software is great because of the greater consistency achieved with the help of Translation memories and terminology databases and pre-processing files for translation in TagEditor or WorldServer is relatively simple. Paradoxically, the sticking point often comes from what should be very simple steps, like saving files in the correct encoding, renaming them to the correct conventions, moving them to different folders, all steps which need to be repeated every time the translators make a modification to the files. In my experience quality and productivity are greatly improved when those tasks can be automated. I am curious to know if anyone is aware of any tools manufacturers who are concerned with helping users to perform these tasks. |
